3rd Trimester

So 35/35 was yesterday and I have a question/vent

When does the time start to drag?  I've heard over and over that the last few weeks drag by and I really need that to kick in.  Time is flying by and there aren't enough hours in the day to get all the stuff I need to get done, done.  I have more shiit on my plate at the moment between getting my house back in order after all the renovations we've done, buying setting up all the stuff for the baby, finishing up all the stuff I need to get done at work, maternity leave paperwork, hospital paperwork, etc.  Lie to me if you have to.  It will slow down, right?

All my friends with kids tell me that this is such a special time and I should be taking the time to enjoy it, but the past few weeks have just been hectic!  Am I alone with feeling this way?

  • My guess is after you have gotten everything in order and you are just sitting and waiting for baby... thats when it will drag!

  • Umm, the time only drags for me when I'm seriously nauseated - oh yes, morning sickness can/will return soon! - when I'm having contractions, or when I cannot sleep. Otherwise - how the heck did I get to 39w?!
  • I'm still feeling good and haven't reached the point when I'm ready to be done with pregnancy.  I'm wondering the same thing you are!
  • The only solution to making time go slower is to wake up earlier in the morning. It is the only thing I have ever found that works.

We also just finished moving, a remodel and I not only need to fill out all the paperwork for my job I also need to do lesson plans for 3 different classes for every single day that I am gone. I'm going to have to start spending time on the weekends here. I wake up at 5:30 am as it is.

  • I feel both ways. There are times when I'm like holey crud, I have a lot to do before baby gets here and other days where I'm like I don't care how much I have to do, I just want to be done being pregnant and have my baby in my arms.

I don't know if I'd say that time is dragging, but I'm paying attention to the end so closely that sometimes it seems forever away and other times another week has passed and I wonder where it has gone

  • For me it is a mixture of dragging and going quickly. In some sense I feel I have been pregnant FOREVER, yet again I can't believe I have 3 1/2 weeks until my EDD!
  • yes, time will slow down enough for us all to get everything done.  I HOPE!!!  i feel the same way you do.  this summer has been so crazy w/weddings, BIL moving out, DH's summer school drama, work ...  i don't have the time (or the energy!) to get anything baby related done.

today i'm actually waiting for HR to call me back about a FMLA question.  so i'm totally in the same boat as you.

but yes.  time will slow down.  it has to.  cuz otherwise we're totally f'd.
