I have registered for 2 packs of the 12-count cloth diapers to use as burpcloths. & I have about 5 other burpcloths at home that were gifts.
Should I knock that down to only 1 pack? I can't imagine needing 30 burp cloths, but maybe that's just me being ignorant.
Re: Too many burpcloths?
I dreamed last night that I received like, 100 burp clothes at a shower and in the end never got the car seat.
This is my anxiety.
I registered for about that many too, plus about 4 mattress pads and 10 crib sheets. Apparently I'm assuming this kid will burp up on everything, shiit out his diper every night, and I won't be doing laundry!
Can you keep any extra packs you get in the package just in case and return them later if needed?
It will really just depend on if your baby is a barfer or not. My daughter was. We had like 12-15 burp cloths and that was enough. I will suggest using the flannel burp cloths (Gerber makes them) rather than the cloth diapers. The flannel ones work SO MUCH better!

You'll want to keep a few in the diaper bag, a few in the nursery for middle of the night feedings, a few where you frequently nurse, etc. And you probably don't want to wash them every single day.
So I'd say you have plenty. ;-) Lots of drool, spit-up and leaking breasts during feedings (to save your clothes, tuck one under your breast while nursing).
This! My sister also keeps them on hand for when the kids (who are 3 and 6) have colds and they take them to bed as their snotties...Instead of using like 300 tissues.
