When I first found out about the anterior placenta around 22 weeks, I was told that once the baby got bigger, I'd be able to feel her through the placenta. So far that hasn't been true. Sometimes I *think* I feel flutters where I know the placenta is, but can't be sure. I do feel her frequently underneath it, right above my pubic bone. My midwives said not to worry as long as her movements seem consistent, but it can definitely make me nervous, especially when her kick counts take a while to complete.
Anyway, just curious what others have experienced now that we're in the 3rd tri.
Re: Anterior Placenta Ladies
I had anterior placenta with my daughter. I *rarely* felt her move...even right up to the end. It was a little worrisome, but my doc just said as long as I felt her daily it was fine. This kid moves so much it drives me nuts most of the time. So I say enjoy the ones that you can't feel as much!
I felt her later because of it but after about 24 weeks I started to feel her quite regularly. Sometimes I can feel softer movements with my hand from the outside more than I can from the inside but when she starts kicking/punching up a storm I feel it everywhere.
I had a friend though with an anterior placenta who, when she found out I have one too said that meant I wouldn't really feel her the whole pregnancy. So while not true for me it does happen to some, maybe it's where the placenta is exactly anteriorially.
