In the Mayo Clinic Guide, it has a section on 'frequent urination', and it says that you're supposed to get better during the second trimester. I've still been waking up every two hours during the night to use the bathroom! It's getting to the point where I'm tempted to just not drink anything after 3pm.
Has anyone noticed an improvement during her second trimester? Give me some hope!
Re: Anyone able to sleep through the night?
Not much better for me. I'm up at 11:30, 2:30, and then 5:30 (when my alarm goes off). Sometimes, if I get off schedule a little bit I will only get up twice.
Sorry, no. I've had to get up once/night through my whole pregnancy.
Drinking fluids is even more important in your 2nd tri so I wouldn't try that. Usually when I take my pee break in the middle of the night I'm thirsty and have another gulp of water.
Around 13 or 14 wks I felt SO sick of getting up to pee it was driving me crazy. Now I'm just used to it.
My tip is to have nightlights placed along the path to the bathroom, and in the bathroom, so you don't have to turn any lights on. I can get up and pee in a half-awake state and it doesn't bother me too much anymore.
Sleep through the night?? HAHA!
It does change nightly for me though. Sometimes it ranges from 3 times a night or just 1.

No and I wouldn't recommend it. There were a couple of days where I didn't drink as much and I ended up being severely dehydrated. I pee all the time in the daytime but am able to only wake up once in the middle of the night. I use that time to drink another glass and take my prenatal, since I'm supposed to do it on an empty stomach, and then go back to bed.

Nope, sorry. I've been getting up on average 2-3 times a night to pee straight through 2nd tri. A few times, I've only had to get up once but those times are very rare. I haven't slept through the night since well before I got pregnant. But then again, I've always hardly ever been able to sleep though the night without waking up to pee at least once - I just have a tiny bladder.
