Would it be so wrong if all I want to do is go home, have a good cry, take a hot shower and forget about my family and the world until tomorrow morning?

Nope. I think that would be okay.
It is normal to have a plethora of feelings today - I say take the evening off if you need it. Feel better.
Do what makes me feel better.
