Sharing Rooms...

Does anybody know the law about opposite sex children sharing rooms? We live in Maryland and can't find anything about it. I thought there was a law that kids over a certain age could not share a room.

I am 99% positive that this law only applies to foster children.

A law? I don't think you really have to worry about that too much. Police don't go around searching homes for that sort of thing.

Just use your common sense. I wouldn't put a 10 year old boy with a 3 year old girl or vice versa. I shared a room w/ my brother (4 years age difference) until I was 8. I think that's where I'd make sure they were in different rooms.

Your oldest is only 5? You're fine. My SD and SS share a room at their BM's and they are 5 and 7. I highly doubt that situation will change anytime soon. Until they start complaining, just let them go about the sleeping arrangements like it is totally normal.

No, there are no laws regarding opposite sex room sharing for siblings.

I've never heard of any law that says who can share a bedroom. I think it's your call.

That only applies to foster children and people in government welfare housing.

There are laws regarding people receiving public assistance and the age of children of opposite sexes sharing a room. For public assistance and the military I believe the age is 5.

There are laws in most states about room sharing. Most of the regulations apply to people who have children with an age difference greater than 5 years.

I do hardly doubt that you will have people knocking on your door demanding you to seperate your kids.
