I say go, but I would just mention it to your dr. to see what they say. There was a concert DH and I really wanted to go to but it was 8 hrs away (big difference from just 2 hrs.)and I would have been 35 wks and 5 days. My Dr. said I shouldn't be more than an hour or two away after 36 weeks and 8 hrs away that close to my due date was not recommended.

I would make the trip, but I don't know if I'd want to participate in all the homecoming activities...I'm assuming that'd be a really long day and I'm pretty pooped if I have to be out and about for a full day.
I'd for sure go. Hell, I'd fly across the country at 35 weeks. Have fun!

I went to disney world at 35 weeks, which was a 2.5 hour drive for us and a full day at the parks. I didn't clear it with my dr, because in a prior pregnancy they told me no flying at 35 weeks & no more road trips farther than an hour at 36 weeks. I didn't have any complications and had no reason to believe I would go into labor 5 weeks early. Since it was my 2nd pregnancy I knew that most likely if I went into labor I could get home, as my last labor was 16 hours. Also, if things felt like they were progressing faster and/or I didn't want to make the trip home, I knew that there were plenty of hospitals around for me to go to. I had a great trip and did not feel a twinge or any sign of labor. The car ride didn't bother me and we only made one stop on the way there for gas and we didn't even make stops on the way home.
You know yourself though...how you feel, what type of pregnancy it has been, what your dr thinks/advises, etc. You should decide based on those factors.
I am going 4 hours away at 35w2d from thurs to sun. I will tell the dr at my appt 2 days before but as long as you can handle the ride there shouldn't be any issue. I went places when I was pregnant with DS up till like 27 wks they wee a little closer but it was nothing.
Re: 2 hour trip @ 35 weeks?

Alright, it's decided!
Off to book my room! Hope I didn't drag my feet too long!

I would totally do it.
I'm thinking about going to mine an hour away at 39 weeks. Oh, indeed.
