went to a birth today

i got a phone call from the midwife at 7 am and i was on the road, about an hour and a half drive to the clients house.  she was 6cms at 8am and after 16 mins of pushing this is what came flying out at 10:26am:

    Wow.

    My bff had a really rough delivery this past week. Her labor was fast, but the baby was really too big for her. The baby and her have both had complications. She's doing much better, but the baby is still having a hard time.

    Did you put the baby in your purse and haul a$$? I'd make a really bad midwife that this particular juncture in my life.

    oh no, bebe, sorry to hear that.  this baby was pretty big too, he was 8lb and 3oz.  the mom was a small woman...maybe 5'1".   she did great and only had a really small tear, we didn't even have to repair it.

    well i did tell the parents that they better frisk me before i leave.  they laughed but i was kinda serious.

    My poor bff is only 5"1 and she her baby was 8lbs 1 oz, but his chest was 14 3/4". It's caused a lot of complications. They had to use forceps (sp ??) and she had a lot stitches. The nurse that checked her told us that she was really in terrible shape.
