The machine I have is about 20 years old and I got my bobbin threaded at JoAnne's during my first class. Now I need to get the thread around it again and feed it through the mcahine, but I can't remember how to do it. I'm googling "threadng a bobbin" but it is all for a different type of machine. Instead of a clear "plate" underthe needle where the bobbin drops in, mine is more on the side, like after you remove the little box that holds small supplies. Is there a special name for this setup so I an find out how to thread it? Thanks!
Re: Threading a bobbin?
tried googling the model but it's so old, I got nothing. And I can't seem to find the manual since I moved everything to the basement. Errr!
But yes, I actually need to wind the bobbin AND thread it into the machine. I am such a hands on learner and I needed to practice doing it about 100 times or I knew I'd forget.....doh!
To wind the bobbin there should be a little thing at the top of your sewing machine toward the right (it should be metal). If you don't have this I'm not sure how yours works.
If you do have this you need to take thread from the spool and put around the first guide you have for threading the needle, next put the thread threw one of the little holes on the bobbin.
Put the bobbin on the holder with the extra thread coming out the top you will need to hold the extra thread until you get some on the bobbin. Push the whole bobbin to the right. Now push your foot on the foot peddle and the bobbing should wind. Once you have thread on the bobbin you can cut off the extra thread you were holding as close to the bobbin as you can.
It also sound like to thread it into the machine you have something like mine. So if this works for winding e-mail me and I will try to scan my directions for you. My e-mail is gadnh@mta.ca
