In the "shower pee" post, I noticed a few people mention that flushing the toilet while you're already using water in the shower is wasteful.
Now I'm curious - do you all flush every single time you pee? Of course I do when it's a #2 situation, but I do not flush the toilet every single time I go to the bathroom. I go to the bathroom literally every 10 minutes. With my first pregnancy I actually noticed an increase in the water bill when I got pregnant, lol! I stopped flushing every time, now I do it probably every other time or maybe even every THIRD time.
So what do you all do?

We have a cat that loves water. We try to keep the lids down. DH forgets and leaves both up (I fell in the other night and he woke up to me screaming b/c I couldn't get my fat butt out).
I can't imagine walking in on our cat playing around in a toilet with pee in it. Gross.

Oh I didn't even think of it being an issue with pets - that would be enough for me to flush every time too, haha. This is making me glad that DS currently has absolutely no access to bathrooms.
He doesn't need them to make a disgusting mess though

I answered other. This might not even make sense, but if I have a "full" pee, I'll flush. If it's just a tinkle (from say my baby laying on my bladder), I'll leave it.
It normally takes me about 5 minutes to put on my make-up. Today, I had to take 4 pee breaks and it took way longer! Ugh! During those times, I did not flush.
I will say that I will not pee in anyone else's pee... Our friends have the motto: "If it's yellow, let it mellow. If it's brown, flush it down." It drives me crazy when I have to pee there and see someone else's pee in the toilet! And I'm sure I drive them crazy for flushing each of the 14 times I pee when I'm there for an evening.?
I always flush when guests are over! In fact, I'm practically paranoid about it - I probably check the downstairs toilet 10 times to make sure I did when we're expecting people, lol.

We never flush at night, me or my husband, because between the two of us the toilet would flush 10 times a night.
I probably flush it every other time I pee during the day. I have cats too but we keep the bathroom doors closed and the lids down on the toilets.

DH and I have argued about this. I go pee seriously like twice an hour. It seems like such waste to flush the toilet EVERY time, so I don't. he thinks it's nasty. I flush every other time.

I flush. I have to. I live with two men who are very very proud of how stinky they can make the bathroom, and another girl who doesn't always flush what she leaves (1 or 2).
So yeah. Most of the time I'm flushing away what they left, too. Makes me want to barf with the fart smell or the floaters left behind. So disgusting.
I can't wait to move. When it was just me and DH, we usually didn' tbother flushing when we peed. But then... we had a low flow toilet anyway which helped alot.

I also don't flush every time for this reason mainly (I never thought about the water bill going up though -- good point).
We also have creaky floorboards, so you can imagine a waddling pregnant woman trying to tip-toe softly across the floor without making a sound.
We have a cat as well, but we keep all the doors shut so he doesn't get into the habit of wanting to be in another room (like the nursery) where we aren't.
