Do your private parts feel different?

Sorry for TMI, but I like have what seems to be the WORST yeast infection that I've ever had in my life.  I got a Monistat-1 for tonight, but it's just horrible.  For days, it's been terrible itching and burning.  I wasn't having any problems with yeast until the last week or so.  And then I went to 'clean' down there tonight and got a good look ... and it was all red and angry and swollen ... I was kind of freaked out, I'd never seen it like that.  ANyone else experience this?  Did it go away?  Was it anything other than a bad yeast infection?  I'll go crazy if this doesn't go away after the MOnistat.

    Did your doc approve Monistat-1? Mine has Monistat-7 on the list, but I don't know if it makes a difference. I just wanted to ask. It also has on the list, Vagistat and Gyne-Lotrimin just for others information. All these only to be used after 3 months.

    I've never had a yeast infection or uti before. Thank god!!!! However as far as my vag feeling different, yes! It's swollen and discolored! Kind of a scary sight.

    haha the joys of pregnancy!! I have never had a yeast infection, but a friend of mine who is almost 19 weeks got one and her MW told her to use monistat but not to instert it all the way like normal?? You insert it right? At any rate, that's what she said. I will be lucky if I can even see what color mine is in a few months!! LOL

    Oh, I forgot to mention that if you don't feel better tomorrow, schedule an appt with your OB. They can offer you the best meds if it is really bad. There is a pill form that is prescription only that I've taken before when I had one.

    I've never gotten a lot of yeast infections, but I do know what it feels like ... but this one is like a Category 4 yeast infection.  It's just awful.  My OB said that MOnistat ... 1 or 7 or whatever ... is safe and fine to use, and that I don't have to go to her office unless the Monistat doesn't work after a few days.

    I've had a yeast infection before but not while pg.  I remember it being a lil puffy and sorta red.  Your's sounds worse than mine.  Yeast infections suck!!!

    I think you probably need to go to your doctor.  An angry vag isn't something to mess with!

    I've never had a yeast infection or uti, but it sounds like one based on what I've heard. I would call your doctor and ask what he/she recommends.

    As far as my vag feeling different, yes! It's swollen ...very weird!

    This is my second pg and I've had yeast infections both times. I never get them when not pg. Also, we get swelling in our lady parts while pg....unfortunately, mine has also changed color. Sorry if TMI.

     

      As for Monistat 1, my OB says NO!!!! The medicine and active ingredients in it is a little strong and with the Monistat 7, you get the 7 days of treatment which guarantee its not going to hang around. My doc says that some women, even on the Monistat 7 start to notice full relief after the 3rd day so they either stop taking it or just start to buy the 3 day in the future. She says that just because your itching and burning is gone, she guarantees... 100% that she would bet her practice that if those 1 day or 3 day women come get examined, there would still be yeast hanging around.
