Anyone else with a low lying placenta?

in 2nd Trimester

I was told at our big ultra sound on Thursday that I have this.  My doctor said I'll have another ultrasound in 8 weeks to check to see if it has moved, but he said it probably would. 

He didn't mention anything about pelvic rest or not doing heavy lifting.  I am going to call the office tomorrow and check but I thought I'd ask here.  Did your doctor give you any restrictions with this?

    I have the same thing and they didn't give me any restrictions either... I am curious to see what everyone else says too.

    The only restrictions I have ever heard are sex...my friend was told that it would cause bleeding and she needed to wait until it lifted again.

    I was told the same thing at our big u/s....they gave me no restrictions.  We've had sex since and no bleeding or problems.  Hope it corrects itself at the next u/s!

    I was told I have this about a month ago at our big US.  The US technician said no sex and no lifting more than 20 pounds but then my doctor said it was no big deal and not to worry.  So of course I worried!  I have another US in a week to check the placement but I was told it will most likely move up as my belly grows.  Hope this helps!

    With a low lying placenta your placenta is lower in your uterus and somewhat near your cervix.  I have complete placenta previa and mine is completely covering it and I have the restriction of no sex, no exercise and no heavy lifting.  With a low lying placenta they are not as worried b/c they just want to watch it and see where it goes (to see if it becomes a previa or not).  Since a low lying placenta is somewhat near but not over the cervix,  I doubt you will have any restrictions.

    I also have a complete previa, and was told no sex and no lifting over 5lbs. I am doubting mine will move because I have had 2 prior c-sections and am afraid that it has adheared to scar tissue.

    i have anterior placenta. just posted a question on this. i'm not sure if anterior is the same as low-lying. if it is, all that it means is that its harder for you to feel the baby's kicks. there are not health risks associated. however, if it's laying too low, it could be blocking the cervix, which will mean that you will need a c-section.
