Does anyone else feel overwhelmed with all of the baby "stuff" you need to buy. I feel like there are so many choices for everything, how do I know I'll pick the right crib, carseat, stroller, etc. I know I've heard people recommend the "Baby Bargains" book, so I think I will be purchasing that. Any other suggestions?

Re: 1st time moms...
I've heard great reviews about baby bargains. But in all honesty... I really just stopped listening to everything and reading things because it is incredibly overwhelming. I asked a friend what she thought I had to have. I did some research on the products I liked and thought were good for us, if it had great safety reviews and great parent reviews, we bought or registered for it.
I was crazy overwhelmed too. I got Baby Bargains and that helped A LOT. Also, talking to a select few friends/relatives who've had babies recently is helpful (make sure you talk to someone who is raising their kids the way you want to - my cousin is an eco-friendly freak and so am I, so she was really good with specific advice that I would actually follow).
Also, you and I've got time, so take that time to do research slowly, one thing at a time, at your own pace. Don't let people scare you into thinking you need to get EVERYTHING baby out there that is offered. Chances are, if you think about it, you don't need half that stuff. Also, you don't have to get everything before the baby is born.
Of course, I anticipate another round of anxiety after 20 weeks...
This is me too. I don't know if you really need all of the baby bouncers, seats, swings, etc. I've also been told it depends on the baby and that some babies love bouncy chairs and others don't. This is so confusing to me.
I'm letting DH research everything since he loves doing it. Then I will look at the top 2 or 3 items in each category. I much prefer it this way.

The horrible mommy indecision is the reason that my boy has in his nursery... 2 framed cross-stitches that were done by DH's great-grandmother!
I do like the Consumer Report Baby Buying guide book, along with BB... I bring them both with me when DH and I are baby stuff shopping.
