Funny you wondered about how we came up with Laken's name! To tell the truth, we didn't have a name until last weekend.
We live by a lake. I can look out my front door and see it. After stressing for almost 9 months over a name, I looked out the door last weekend and saw the lake. I thought I the name Lake. But that seemed weird, so I tried to convince DH to name her Blake. He wasn't into it, but I told him it stemmed from the lake idea...so he browsed through a baby name book and found Laken.
Her middle name is a spinoff from our oldest DD. Nina's middle name is Baylee. We used that and changed it to Haylee. The reason both middle names are spelled that way is because DH's middle name is Lee. That's just something he likes and I'm fine with it.
So that's how we came up with the name. Bear in mind that our last name is the most common last name (hint, hint) and we've tried to give our kids names that will help make them a little unique.
Re: **PAAZwife**
What a great story! I love that your girls both have middle names using the "ee" from their daddy's name. I'd go nuts-o with a common last name, so I think it is wonderful that you're giving your girls a way to be unique and stand out.
Congratulations again!
