We love it. Like the nn of Xander instead of Alex. Great name.
TTC #1 for over 5 years - too many to count IF treatments (tried everything and anything), repeat miscarriages.
Finally, Sticky Success!! B/G Twins arrived 2011.
I like it, but around here it's the #1 name out of all kids we know. There are six Alex/Alexanders and one Alejandro out of less than 15 kids! Oh, plus one Alexander as a MN.
It's insane how common it is. BUT, it IS a great name...
I have a Malone Alexander. I agree with pp who said to keep the first name a one syllable if you're going to use it as a middle though. Otherwise, it can be a mouthful.
DH picked out that name for our boy name, we will be spelling it differently as DH is European and they don't spell it as we do - but either way, very nice strong name.

Re: Do you like Alexander?
I love the name either 1st or Middle.
I'd keep the MN 1 or 2 syllables.
Perhaps- Joseph, John, David, Lee, etc.
I absolutely love Alexander. It makes a great, strong first or middle name.
Also, there have been so many great Alexanders throughout history that the name has a good connotation for most people.
I know an Alexander James, and I've always thought that combo sounds really nice.

I'm a fan. I know a little boy named Brady Alexander but I like it as a first name or middle name.
My niece's name is Alexandra, which I also love
