Maybe the plans were made before the shower was planned? Sorry she lied though. That sucks .
I'd be cool with that, but she told me she had an out of town wedding to go to today (which I thought was weird, because how many people get married on a Sunday? but whatever).
Nope, she just posted that she's spending the day "shopping with the girls"...definately not a wedding...unless they got married and she made it out of town and back before 9:30am today :P
Ack. That kind of stuff really pisses me off. When I went back to KS to visit my family, I took a day to go to the town that I had lived in before I moved out here (2 hours away from my parents'). One of my friends had been "so excited" to see me, but I hadn't been able to get ahold of her until I was already down there. She said she had 'something serious come up' with her new bf's family (they had been together for less than a week....) and wasn't going to be able to see me(this was also the ONLY day I was going to be able to spend down there and she knew it). I was pretty pissed...and it only got worse when I saw her status updates that day talking about how drunk she was proceeding to get throughout the day.
Yeah....I don't talk to her much anymore. I hate that kind of BS.
It wouldn't really bother me...some people just aren't "shower people". Sorry she had to lie about it though. She probably just should have said that she wasn't going to be able to attend and left it at that.
If you're going to lie to someone about why you can't come to their shower, please don't post on facebook what your real plans are for the day.
I'm kinda hurt.
oooo - that's horrible! but i'm glad you called her out on it...
i had something "similar" happen... ok not exactly similar... but my MIL rsvp'd to my second shower (shower was in the evening 4:30pm) saying she couldn't make it because she was going to be out of town. sounds reasonable, right? well, then two days after rsvp'ing she calls me to invite me and dh to dinner the night of the shower... um? hello? thought you were going to be out of town?
Re: PSA If you're going to lie to someone... (short vent)...
Me too
I did hah...

To heck with the shower - I just hate liars. They drive me nuts.
Then again, maybe I am just jealous. I can't lie worth crap.
