IUI #1 of B2B was this morning and post wash sperm count was 1.7 million.....a little low. I told my husband that it only takes one, and that we have IUI#2 tomorrow......trying to keep his "confidence" up. His count has never been that low (from his SA and previous IUI's), and I am a little concerned. I know that IUI's are a good thing in helping with low count.....but am trying to stop thinking about it and think happy, BFP thoughts.
Any thoughts?
Re: #1 of B2B IUI done ......low sperm count....
I had my IUI this morning, too. Dh has MFI, too with low sperm count being one factor. I don't know if it is smart or not, but I never ask for numbers. If he offers them up, then I take them, but if not, I just pretend everything is going perfectly.
Just try and think that the one spermy you need met the one egg you need. BFP's for everyone this month :-)
To be honest with you, I cried in the RE's office (in the stirrups, while awaiting B2B IUI #1) because DH's count was only 4 million with 70% motility (68 million with 30% motility pre-wash---his HIGHEST in 4 SA's). I cried and thought a BFP was completely out of the question. The next day, our pre-wash count was only 23 million, with 40% motility, and post-wash was 10 million with 90% motility.
That was our BFP cycle.
Those numbers can be all over the place. And don't feel down, because it truly does only take one getting to where it needs to go. Good luck!
Chin up. My RE helped me with our low count on the first sample this month - he said lower number was ok, because the sperm are happier washed so he doesn't mind a lower number.
BTW: Second day the number was 4X as high....
Good luck!
