Why is everyone so into the commercialized branded blankets that don't work as well as what created the swaddle, a plane blanket? I just don't get it... DS is swaddled in a blanket and LOVES IT and sleeps great.

Not the best pic of the swaddle... but in NICU the best Children's Hospital Doctors and nurses did what is best for babies and this is what they used...
Re: Swaddling...
My DS always comes out of his plain blanket swaddle, no matter how tight I do it. That is why I use the "commercialized swaddle". I have the one that has the velcro tabs on the sides to hold it in place. It was FANTASTIC. I would not trade it for the world. I guess everyone is entitled to use what works best for them.
This! Who knows, maybe I'm swaddling incorrectly, but the "commercialized product" is saving me time, effort, and sleep. So I'm not complaining.
Kklickka,
I guess both our little Noahs are the same!! LOL! Mine does the same exact thing. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Swaddle Me blankets. It's the only way he'll stay asleep as well.
Because DS breaks out of the regular blanket no matter how tight I make it.

Well, perhaps the commercial swaddle blankets I've got come from Wal mart or something, because they have all seriously not worked for me. It's so easy to swaddle correct, and doesn't take extra time. Just minutes to learn how.
Maybe your LO is in between sizes?
At first we were using the small and she was still too little for the velcro to fully attach, but since she wasn't moving around too much, it wasn't a problem. Then she got bigger and it worked perfectly.
But now Seri is in between the small and large and it sucks.. She is too long for the smalls but the large is too big and doesnt fasten. But since she is so strong, I swaddle just her arms in the size small and that seems to work.
Not sure if you followed me on that, but the Swaddlemes really are awesome.
You should check your TJ Max or Marshalls to see if they have them. That way you can buy one for like $4 and if it still doesn't work for you, you won't have wasted your money at Babies R Us.
This is the same with our son. I am happy to spend the extra money to have nights full of sleep. even if they were $50 each I would still pay that much they are a life saver, I will be sad when I am not longer to swaddle him (I know that day is coming soon).
I'm a lazy parent, obviously
