Fitted question GMs, B4, sbish etc

I am just curious how these fit on an older baby?  They are one size, right?  Do the fitteds work as well on older babies as they do on NBs?  We cannot do wool as DD is very sensitive.  I can't even wear wool and hold her.  What other cover options might work?  I haven't tried any fitteds or PFs, and the curiosity is getting the best of me.

Re: Fitted question GMs, B4, sbish etc

  • I don't have any experience with SBish, (although I've heard good things) but we use both GM's & B4's, and they both work well on DS.  I find the B4's (the new size) has a higher rise than the GM (which I like on an older baby) and works great.  B4's are our nighttime diapers, although we do use wool.  Another option, besides regular PUL covers, would be fleece.  Fleece soakers need to be washed more often than wool, but is still a bit better at preventing leaking than I think PUL is on a heavy wetter/overnight.  Generally speaking, we have several different fitteds that work well on DS.  There are a few to stay away from for older kids (IMO) but none of the ones you mentioned.

  • K is almost 17 months and she has a lot of room left in her GMs.  The B4's leg holes were too big for my skinny minnie so I sold all of mine but I can see how they would totally have worked for an older baby.

  • We also use wool with ours but I would imagine fleece would suit you great since its softer.

We love our GMs and the one (so far) FLFB we have.  We use GM as our nighttime.  We also tried B4 but the leg holes were to big and we do NOT have a skinny minnie... she has super chunk legs, lol.  Our GMs also fit our 2  year old great too :)
