thanks for reading, typing it out makes me feel better!
for the past few days i suspected i was getting a UTI, i had been feeling the pressure in my lower abdomen for a while but the pain started setting in shortly before i left for work yesterday (sharp pain on my lower right side). i called my dr. and he said since my cultures had been coming back negative for a UTI, head to L&D. this really freaked me out, i thought he'd just call in an antibiotic.
they hooked me up to the fetal monitor and contraction monitor and did all sorts of tests to see what was going on...then we realized i was having steady contractions 1-2 minutes apart! they thought it might be dehydration, but when IVs did nothing they started me on 3 rounds of terbutaline to stop the contractions. they were slowing down but not stopping, so they had me stay overnight.
james's HB was good, he was doing fine. this morning i woke up and they started full force again. the good thing was that they weren't effective, i wasn't dilating or anything but they started another round of the meds. my dr. came by to see me and said since everything else looked good and the contractions were slowing, he was going to send me home on bedrest until they stop completely with an oral form of the meds to take if they started up again. so far ive had to take one pill...im just glad james is fine! thanks for reading!
