Hi everyone!
I've been fortunate that I've not really been hit with morning sickness at all...until now. Ugh. Luckily, I'm not throwing up, but I just have pretty much a constant feeling of nausea. I hate it! I'm trying all the "tricks" everyone says - stay hydrated, don't let your stomach get empty, but still...nausea is here.
To top it all off, my appetite has completely vanished. I do not want to eat. Nothing sounds good. Today I've managed to get down a bowl of frosted mini wheats and a grilled cheese sandwich, but the thought of dinner repulses me.
What do you do when you just absolutely, positively DON'T want to eat??? I know I need to eat for the sake of the baby, but ugh, I just don't want anything.
Re: No Appetite; Nausea; What do you Do?
I just eat what ever sounds good... even if it's just a candy bar. That way a least something is in my stomach.
It will get better!
that's how I lost 10lbs my 1st tri w/DD; this time I've only lost 3 but for some reason am sicker (go figure). I ate when/what I could. Lots of small "meals" (more like snacks). Cant say any particular food helped; I just ate when I could.
For DD I took Zantac 2x/day and liquid Mylanta inbetween. For this pregnancy I'm on prescription Prilosec.
This is wonderful advice - thank you.
I love, love, love that picture of your son in your signature. He's precious!
My dr. prescribed me Zofran too, but it doesn't seem to be working for me. I've read that B6 can help with nausea too, so I may try that.
For the past week I have only eaten apples with peanut butter, peanut butter toast, animal crackers, and mac and cheese. I'm constantly hungry, but the nausea is so bad I can't really eat much...I kind of have to give myself a pep talk before eating "you can do this, you won't throw up". (I know, stupid!) I hope you find relief soon!
I've felt like this for the past week, and I'm just now getting an appetite back. What helped me was sucking on a Lifesaver before getting out of bed in the morning -- it raised my blood sugar and made it easier to eat a little something once I got up (either crackers or a little bit of Frosted Flakes).
During the day, I drank milkshakes... I didn't want to eat at all, the thought of it totally disgusted me, but with the milkshakes I just felt like I was drinking something and I was still getting a lot of protein & calcium for the baby. Jamba Juice was helpful sometimes, too.
