Dear XBox360...

Dear XBox360...

Sometimes I really love how you distract my husband, and keep him quiet (unless he's losing) and occupied for hours. Some nights, however, when all I can hear is your NCAA commentary, calling out football plays made by players with "mature" names, such as "Fook Yu" and "B. Lowjob," it gets annoying. The least you could do is not allow players to name their characters. Or make my husband teach me how to play so I'm not so bored.

Best Regards,

Me.

  • I understand...my boyfriend plays EverQuest. And, he plays on MY computer, so I have to use his (cause mine is better) and it makes my lap hot.

    And I hate that.

You should look into a Nintendo DS. They have fun games, and you can put in headphones! :D

  • I totally understand!! I love the Xbox/babysitter now, but when the baby comes and my hubby loses the "man cave" I'm gonna actually have to deal with it =(
  • LOL!  I feel your frustration.  With my first one, DH was unemployed and he played World of Warcraft at all hours.  The office was down the hall, and our bedroom doesn't have a door yet.  I didn't always get a lot of sleep. . .  Fortunately for us now, the accounts have been disabled.
  • oh how I LOVE that my husband is not into video games lol

  • I completely understand about the XBOX. SO has one, but he's pretty good about playing it.  I have the DS and it's great! It's got some cute games.

  • Haha! XBox/babysitter; I Love it!

It's true. It keeps the hubby out of my hair when I want my down time, but the yelling is so damn annoying.

What games do you play? My faves are Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon. I really want Professor Layton's curious village though. I think it will help me with pregnancy brain. *Earnest nod* Yes, yes, I think it is a worthy investment.

  • Oh my goodness I am the same way with DH.  It is so nice at times, but there are some times when I just wish I couldn't here yelling about a play that must have been a stupid computer glitch (obviously I cleaned this up for the site) or him talking to himself or his online buddies!  It can be so annoying!

  • I fully sympathize:) My husband is a computer gamer, World of Warcraft. He is constantly playing, saying he's running out of time because the baby is coming. He talks to the people in the game too, which is kind of annoying. But, at least he is at home and not out at a bar...

  • So I have stolen my wife's account again. Just to defend all DHs out there. we love our SO with all our hearts but sometimes after a day of supporting and caring for our pregnant wives or girlfriends we need to get lost in killing other armies or playing a sports game. I personally play Cod(call of duty) it gets me away from my (hormonal) wife for just long enough that I look forward to the next day of taking care of her and doing whatever she needs me to do to make her day better and easier. Just because we play xbox doesn't mean we are ignoring you or won't listen to you. it just means we are having some me time and when you call we will be there for you. I SWEAR!!!!!!!!!!!

  • haha I know exactly how you feel! My husband has been playing Madden for the past couple of days and I guess he has been losing because that's all I hear about! He sits on his recliner screaming at the TV. Yesterday he started freaking out because he was winning and then the person he was playing against ended up shutting his xbox off because he was losing and didn't want the score to count. I don't mind if he plays as long as he doesn't scream at the tv! Also, when he plays he has the volume up so loud, I always tell him he's trying to blow my eardrums out.

  • My DH plays World of Warcraft.  He's super quiet, though.  He'll play for hours and I don't hear a peep out of him unless he's running to the kitchen for a snack or water.  He is trying to get as much play time in now before our LO arrives.  I don't mind because he'll always stop playing if I need him for something.

I am so glad that I'm not the only adult-age Animal Crossing addict!  I played it all the time on DS but switched over to the Wii version when it came out.  Professor Layton is really fun, too!  There's a new Professor Layton that just came out that I'm dying to get- Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box.
