I know CD isn't an AP issue but a lot of moms on here CD so I thought I would ask.
We are looking to join the Y and they said that cloth diapers are not permitted in their Child Watch, in accordance with OSHA regulations. Anyone know anything about this? ?Google wasn't much help and our old Y didn't have an issue, because they didn't change diapers at all (cloth or disposables). ?
Re: OSHA, daycare and cloth diapers
I have never been to a gym that changes any diapers at all. Very strange!
funny.
we used to belong to the Y and they changed diapers... and didn't care if they were cloth or sposies (they just took the dirty ones and put them in a plastic bag, knotted, for you to deal with).
I can't believe that it's an OSHA thing - -there are plenty of daycares that will allow cloth.
...heck, the hospital where I delivered DD used to do cloth, too - they had the local diaper service (until they had too many problems with people stealing them).
I am the 99%.
here's a great article...

This is what we have found as well. However, our Y also doesn't change diapers at all.
Could you ask that they just not change her? And to come get you if she needs changed?
Our Y didn't change diapers either.
However, our daycare was happy to. Until we got to the toddler room- for some reason the toddler teachers freaked and thought they weren't allowed to do cloth. So I 100% beleive it isn't illegal- they just don't know WTH they are talking about, and don't want to have to mess with CD's.

Awesome article! I plan to share this at my DD's daycare.
Our Y in St. Louis didn't change diapers either, so this surprised me. ?I think I will just tell them to page us if she needs a change. ?No way I'm buying sposies just for the Y.
Thanks for the info everyone.?
