I know 2 people who said the diaper champ sucked and smelled bad all the time.
I'm taking a gamble and not getting a diaper system. I seem to think I will have the discipline to take dirty diapers outside to the trash...we'll see how long that lasts in January in the ice..ya know, that's stupid. I might have to go add one to my registry.

I've had a few people recommend diaper dekor over the diaper champ or diaper genie - they like the dekor because you can use your own bags with it. So we're going to give that a try and see how it goes, at worse it sucks and we buy a different one later.
I was set on getting the champ because I heard it was awesome and cheaper since it can use any trash bag. But the champ was recently changed and it's not supposed to be as good now. Plus everyone I know with the Diaper Genie Elite loves it. So I may just get the Genie. I don't know. I'm almost tempted to just not get any system and throw them away but I'll still probably get the genie since it will be cold outside when the baby is little.

I like the gDiapers... flushable seems least smelly and eco-friendly. and I like that they have the option of cloth as well.... best for baby's skin (no bad chemicals) so that's my plan... just hoping it'll happen with this one!

They keep changing these and so the consumer reviews keep changing. It seems to me that the new Diaper Genie is getting great reviews - they eliminated the function where it individually wrapped the diapers. I saw a lot of reviews for Dekor & Champ that said once the baby is into solid foods, they get smelly. I think we're going to go with the Genie...
The genie was the only one that got good ratings in baby bargains, so we thought we'd register for that.
However, after some thought we decided not to register for any diaper system because we live in a small ranch and we can easily throw the diapers outside, or at least out onto the porch when they are stinky. We figured with the genie we'd be annoyed with the emptying and refilling, plus those refill packs are pricey!

I am not getting either. I will just take out the trash more often. I think the diaper systems are a waste of money because they still stink when you open them.

We have the Diaper Dekor plus and I love it so far.... each refill hold over 300 diapers, you change out the bag after 40 or so.
Some of the bags we have changed smelt TERRIBLE and we have never had any odors in the nursery.
