Cal's an easy-going baby but today is a no-smiles, wah-wah kind of day. I finally just saw his first truly happy moment when he patted our cat. He hasn't been as happy entertaining himself as he normally is, nor has he been happy nursing, nor doing much of anything else.
My first thought is teething, but we've wondered about teething for months and have yet to see any physical signs of it happening. Just an occasional cranky day (though not as bad as this). My other thought was that he isn't feeling well - DH had the flu this week so perhaps he is coming down with it. I just fed him some solid food thinking maybe he was hungry b/c we've had reason to believe he was ready for a 3rd solid meal (normally we do morning and late afternoon). He was really into it, so that may have been part of it, but he just started fussing again. He is working on crawling and does get frustrated that he can't seem to move around the way he'd like. So, that could be part of it.
And, I know that is could just be "one of those days." But Cal just doesn't normally have these days.
WTH? I need a nap. Insights welcome.
Re: Why the extreme crankiness? Help
SeaSoul, sometimes I think our babies are on the same wavelength! Reagan has been acting the exact same way--she is just out of sorts. She isn't sleeping great, is cranky, etc. We too have been looking for signs of teething for months, and finally on Tuesday she cut her first tooth! I think that has contributed to her mood. I also think because she is starting to crawl and interact more with her surroundings, her mind isn't settling completely at night. She even seems to want to crawl in her sleep!
Like everything else, I am hoping this is a stage that will pass. If you find anything that helps, let me know!
