I'm not sure if I'm jumping the gun with this intro post, but DH and I just confirmed our 1st BFP with a digital. The tears just came when I saw "pregnant" pop-up on the screen. I'm 34 and DH is 32 we've been married 1 1/2 years. I've done some lurking while ttc and this board seems just as great as TTCA35. My plan was to call my gyn Monday to confirm the pregnancy with a beta-HCG but I see some 1st Tri people don't have a first appt until 6-8 weeks. What was your experience?
Re: Room for one more?
Congrats & Welcome!!!
Let's see with my 1st my appt was at 7 weeks (age 32), but because I was on Clomid to get pregnant, with my 2nd (age 34) my 1st appt was at 9 weeks (& this was after a m/c & clomid - but I did have the HCG bloodwork taken twice within the 48 hours apart to ensure it was a viable pregnancy as soon as I tested +)), and with my 3rd (age 35) my 1st appt was at 6 weeks 3days.. they thought I was further along.. I knew I was only 6 weeks.. fortunately we did see a heartbeat!
So my doctors office does not typically see people until 8-10 weeks.
Congrats!
I had my 1st appt at 8 weeks. And that's the earliest my dr office sees ya.
Welcome to the Board and congrats on your positive pregnancy test!! I had to wait until about 8 weeks before my dr was going to schedule me in for an appt too. I miscarried my first and so with the second (ended in miscarriage as well) and then the third (this pregnancy) they sent me for blood tests right away.
Just sit back and relax!!!
Yay! Congrats! I was shocked to learn when I called my regular Dr's office to schedule a blood test and was told that the HPTs are VERY accurate (I took 3!), they said congratulations and call your OB. My OB wouldn't see me until 8 weeks...its tough waiting for that first appt but its SO worth it!
This board is the best!

Congrats and welcome! My appt was at 5 weeks. They didn't even do a blood test because the EPTs are so accurate now. I did get an ultrasound but you really couldn't see anything but the sac.
Such an exciting time! Enjoy!
Congrats and welcome!!
We were dealing with IF, so we were monitored right away, from 2 weeks after our IUI.
Congrats and welcome!
I'm working on child #2 and I've never had betas taken. I think they only do betas if they are worried about a problem or if you have IVF/IUI - If you didn't and you haven't had a m/c before, then they might not want to see you for a while. I didn't see my OB until 9+ weeks.
