Success after IF

My rings STILL don't fit :(

i've been trying on my engagement ring/wedding ring every week since having Jake and it still doesn't fit.  I'm pretty sure all the swelling is gone- it almost seems like my knuckle grew....it that possible??? Anyone else?

Re: My rings STILL don't fit :(

  • mine either - i think my knuckles actually got bigger.  There are some days they'll fit and others - not so much.

  • I couldn't get mine on till about 8 weeks pp even though I lost all my pregnancy weight + about 10 extra pounds... I think my joints stayed swollen for quite a while.  I can wear them now though. Give it a few more weeks... don't get them sized or anything.

  • You are not alone!  I can force my wedding band over my knuckle. . . but it is not comfy and I'm afraid it will get stuck.  I have a claddagh ring (Irish wedding ring) that I usually wear on the middle finger of my right hand that I am wearing as my wedding band.  Living in the heart of the Bible Belt, with a deployed husband, I feel naked without a wedding band.  :o)  I'm going to give it a few more months and if the rings still don't fit, I'll look into getting them resized.  I sure hope that they fit soon though. (I, too, have lost all my baby weight and five pounds.  Darn swollen joints!)

  • I refuse to wear my rings --- I wash my hands like 60 times a day; I am forgetful; and I don't want to scratch L with my rings.

  • It was about 6 weeks before I could get my rings back on.

  • I know you are not going to want to hear this........but at 6 months pp (Yes....SIX......), we had to get my rings resized :( I was almost back to my pre-pg weight at that time and I tried all the time to get them to fit and it never worked :(

It will be interesting to see what happens this time.......I'm already betting that they will have to be resized again :(

  • Umm, I still cant get mine on. Booo
  • I'm 3 weeks pp and I've only put mine on once- I got them on fine but at teh end of the day had some trouble getting them off so I'm waiting a little longer.I think some swelling is still there even though I can't see it b/c I still have carpal tunnel symptoms, although they're getting better. Hopefully your rings will fit better with time!
  • It took me a while to wear mine again, I know I couldn't wear them for 10 weeks, and I think I stopped at 34w (gave birth at 38) so that would mean I got them on again (and tightly) at around 6weeks post birth.
Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever!
