Hanging up baby boy clothes

Hello! If you're having (or have) a baby boy, are you hanging any of his clothes in the closet? If so, what are you hanging?

We're in a 1br apartment so we're sharing with the baby, and I can't decide if we need to make some room in our closet for his clothes, or if we'll just fold everything. Thoughts?

  • We *think* we're having a girl and I've been hanging things that are too thick to fold and put into the drawers or nicer items that I don't want to get wrinkled.

  • I have hung up almost all of his stuff and things that don't fit go in his dresser...I am mostly folding onesies and sleepers for easy access at night.  Everything else (day time wear) is going in the closet and there is a TON of stuff!!
  • We literally just found out we were having a boy last weekend.  So, with that being said we don't really have any boy clothes yet!  The clothes that we do have though are hanging in the closet for now.  I think once it gets closer and after I wash all of them I am going to put most of them in the dresser.
  • I only hung a few things even though he has his own double closet, which looks completely bare with just like 8 tiny things in there lol.  I hung a couple of jackets and a few items that I received at my shower that are sizes 12 months and up because I didn't want to get all the sizes all mixed up.  Everything else is folded in a dresser.  Plus, I figure the last thing I am going to want to be doing is struggling with all those tiny hangers trying to hang his clothes up all the time..
  • Since our little guy has his closet we hung up pretty much everything except his pants. If we didnt have the space though we would have just folded everything and put it in his dresser, for now the dresser is packed with the tons of blankets we got at my shower.

  • I'm having a girl and we folded most of her clothes, simply because we don't really have baby hangers and we have enough room in the drawers. I think choosing to fold the clothes over hanging them is just fine.
  • Assuming its possible (haven't had my shower yet so I don't know how many clothes we'll end up with) we are going to fold it all.

  • the only thing that I have hung up is like his outfits...i fold his play/sleep clothes and put them in the drawers.
  • We're having a girl, but we too are in a one bedroom. We folded everything except dresses and thick stuff (like jeans and jackets). We put it all in drawers or in those organization bins since we didn't have room for another dresser.
  • Considering you don't have a whole lot of space it might be easier to fold everything, but I've seen at BRU and probably at Target closet extenders that allow you to hang stuff on two different levels...those might be handy for some of your stuff that isn't super long as well as LO's clothing.

The only reason that I hung up all LO's shirts and sweaters is because if I can't see it I'll forget its there and I don't want anything to go to waste! If our LO didn't have his own closet I'd definitely fold though because our closet space is very limited.

  • We are hanging up all his outfits and pants, sweaters etc and just folding all his sleepers and oneszies.  He gets his own closet though so if you are limited on space just do what you have room for!
  • Our son has a closet in his nursery but we're not hanging any of his clothes. Everything will be folded in his dresser. We plan on using the closet to install an organizer and store things like his hooded towels, socks, hats, diapers, etc.
  • We are hanging everything except pj's and pants.  That's what the closet is for!
