WAHM jobs w/o childcare that pay a lot don't exist.

Can we just keep this at the top of the board at all times?

  • Sounds like a plan to me!
  • Well, a few exist, but if they do they require:

    A) An education;

    B) experience in the field - usually a lot of it; and

    C) a pre-existing relationship with the company.

  • Huh, what?  I don't get what you mean?  No one is going to pay me over 100k to stay home and watch DS?!   Why not?  Why didn't anyone tell me this?  My plans are ruined, RUINED, I say.

    No, in all seriousness, I agree.  It amazes me how many women think WAH jobs are a dime a dozen, and that they won't need daycare.  I love my boy more than anything - but he is a handful and there is no way I could work AND watch him.  At least not if I want him to have human interaction and want to help him learn, grow and develop.  I guess I could just stick him in a dark closet and ignore him.....  Tongue Tied

  • It just amazes me that there are so many WAH posts. Do people really think they can get something for free? With no job skills?

    No wonder these scam companies exist - I am sure women get suckered all the time.

  • Screw the top of the board... I want it tattooed across my forehead. Maybe that way people IRL won't assume that DD is home just because I happen to work there.

  • I don't honestly even know why this is appealing to anyone.  To do two jobs at once?  Oh and not even have an opportunity to interact with any adults.  Every time I work from home when my kids are sick, I feel like a chicken with my head cut off running between work and kids and not ever actually finishing anything.  It has no appeal to me whatsoever.  In fact, I hate it :)
  • I worked from home 100% of the time when DS was 6-8 weeks old.  That was a nightmare.  Then I went to 50% and just recently went back to 4 days a week and 1 at home.  I do not get a lot done on my work from home days except when he is napping and then all I really want to do is clean the house.  My ideal situation is a part time job that will pay me my full time salary!

    I wish the nest had a like button.  Instead I give this post 5 stars.

    Same here!  When people hear I WFM, they think DD stays home with me - and some act like I'm a bad mom for sending her to daycare when I'm at home.
