Isabelle got her ears pierced today!

Isabelle has been saying now for about 2 weeks or so that she wants earrings like mommy so today while we were at Tri County Mall I asked if she wanted to get them pierced & she said yes. ?We picked out the earrings, explained what was going to happen & she did it. ?She said, "ouch that hurt" & had two little tears but as soon as they showed her them in the mirror she was so excited that she forgot about crying. ?Now every time she sees a mirror she checks herself out & does poses to see them. ?She picked out of course the most expensive pair, a pink crystal flower but said that we don't have to buy anymore earrings b/c she's going to wear these forever! ?I'm so proud of her & they look adorable!

  • That is so cute!  I wish I had a little girl to enjoy those fun girly moments with.

  • So fun huh!?  I just got Ryleigh's pierced last weekend.  She does the same, looks in every mirror!  I was also a little shocked by how much it cost...I was thinking it was around 20 or so....not $40!!  D*mn inflation!!!  :)

Holy cow!  I remember mine costing between $10 and $15.  My friend who got hers pierced at the same time got hers for free since the gun broke in her ear and they basically did hers by hand, but that's another story...

Congrats to both your girls on their new earrings!

  • Yeah, I about passed out when they said the cost! ?Of course Isabelle picked the most expensive pair too! ?$37.50 for a pair of 14K gold earrings that have pink crystals to form a flower. ?The birthstone earrings were only a dollar cheaper so oh well it was worth it I guess b/c they are so cute & look better than the gold or silver balls & Isabelle said she loves them so much I never have to buy earrings again for her.

  • Little girls with pierced ears are so cute!  We have vowed to wait until Brenna is old enough to ask for pierced ears before we do it.  I would totally pay $40 for her earrings if they make her happy.  Do the piercing studs still have the locking backs?  Those are great for little kids IMO.  You must post pics of her in her new bling.

  • I'm sure they're super cute!!!

FYI:  be sure to take them out after the waiting period.   I did not with my favorite pair in 4th grade (my parents trusted me, right?) and one night I couldn't get them out.  I had to have my earrings surgically removed because the skin had grown over the back of the earring.  GROSS!!!  I wound up getting them re-pierced when I was like 12 and my parents were completely convinced I'd take care of my ears that time around.

  • You should be OK if you turn them once a day for her.  My third holes tried to seize up because I was lax about turning  the studs.  I cannot wait to see pics of her in her new jewelry!

  • Oh yeah, we make sure (she does) to turn them at least twice a day.!   I was like PP and wanted to wait till she asked for them.  She picked out the birthstone ones, but her birthday is in March and she picked the December pair....her favorite color is green and they were a blueish (sp?) green.  I have to admit they do look darn cute in her ears!
