Infertility

Feeling a little sad about IF today.

I went in to school today and I saw a bunch of people that I have not seen since June.

I am really one of the few women who have not had kids yet in my building and I am BY FAR the oldest of those who do not.

If anything, I am thinner than I was in June, and when I saw some of the "older" women, when they remarked about my weight, I could tell they were thinking... we thought for sure you'd be PG. It makes me so sad as I should have a 26 week belly to show off. :(

Blech.

Can't wait to see just how many people come back KU'd. (not really)

It is just so unfair.

Re: Feeling a little sad about IF today.

  • ugh. I am so so sorry. Being a teacher must be the worst place for having to be around pg women.

I really wish we were both still 26+ weeks pregnant - I'm also really really hoping that you can get your butt over to SAIF ASAP.

    ((Hugs))

also - keep remembering how awesome you look compared with them!!!

  • I'm so sorry...that is the worst feeling. If one more of my colleagues says to me, "I thought for sure you'd come back to school pg this year!" I may kick someone.

Sending you hugs! Some days just stink that way.

  • It is hard going back to school, everyone speculates about who is pg.  I am sure there will be a lot this year.  I have been anxious for the start of school for some of the same reasons you were mentioning.  It's tough!

  • I am sorry you had a bad day. You are still young in my book, and you are going to be pg before your fall break.

  • That's got to be tough! I'm so sorry it was a rough day back. I was laid off from teaching in the Spring and although I am extremely disappointed not to have a job, I was so sick of the pregnancy comments from other teachers. {{hugs}}

  • that must have been hard for you...but don't worry...you'll be knocked up by halloween.  have a couple of glasses of wine or blue moon tonight, and try to forget all about it.

  • I'm sorry! I go through that same thing every year when we come back in Aug.  I work with mostly older women, all of whom have children.  There are a handful of younger teachers--all new mommies and/or newly pregnant.  It makes me really sad!

Don't worry, we're going to be joining them soon...I know it!!! Hugs!

  • I like to think of it this way...

by having my kids later in life, I will be reclaiming a little bit of my youth... Can then hang out with all the younger moms who never got to do all the cool thinks I did the past 15 years while I wasn't raising kids!

Think how wise we will be when we raise our kids...

  • ((HUGS)) from me and mr. worm

he also had a bad IF day :(  He said to drink some blue moons for him, he can't drink on meds

Your turn is coming very soom and I hope that you're the first KU teacher in your school this year!

  • Sorry to hear about your tough day.  I hate that feeling of people wondering why I'm not pregnant, and I go through what they must think (like that we should get going with trying because we're not getting any younger, etc.).  I hope you have a relaxing weekend.  Take care!

  • (((hugs))) These days are so hard.  I'm starting at a new school this year and I'm getting lots of "Do you have kids yet?" as people ask questions to get to know me.  It's sucky.  I hope you don't have to put up with it for very long this school year because your FET will be a success :)

  • I am sorry to hear you are having a sad day. You are a brave woman to be a teacher going through IF. I don't know that I would be strong enough to do that. Hugs to you.
  • I am so sorry. Some days are harder than others but just know your time will come.

  • I'm so sorry. That is really hard.

Try and think about it the other way though...they are all probably really jealous of your weight loss! Let's be honest here...as a woman, when we see another woman who has lost weight we think about how much we'd like to do the same!
