Not 3TC Related: Breast Cysts

I have a large, sometimes painful breast cyst for about 3 weeks.  Had a mammogram & sonogram this morning.  Everything looks okay, but they want me to see a surgeon to get a 2nd opinion and possibly to aspirate it.  Has anyone had anything similiar and if so, what was your outcome?

    I had this.  It wasn't big enough to aspirate but they did keep their eye on it.  I was worried at the time but tried to keep it in check and listened to the experts who said not to worry.  I think you are wise to get a 2nd opinion and have a surgeon look.  FWIW my mother had fibrous cystic breasts that were aspirated all the time and everything was benign.  Thoughts and prayers are with you.

    When I was younger (between 18 and 21) I had multiple cysts aspirated.  It was actually just one at a time, but they would aspirate it and it would come back in a few months.  After I went on birth control pills, they never came back.  I guess it was hormone-related.  The procedure itself is no big deal at all, but of course it takes an emotional toll worrying about it.  Keep us posted.

    Thanks ladies.  The doctor also said it is probably horomone related.  I have an appt with the surgeon next week.
