So sorry your fresh cycle didn't work out. An FET is SOOOO much easier! (On your body and your wallet.) I took BCPs on my first attempt, but I ovulated anyway so we had to start Lupron. I took it for about 2 weeks, then started estrace and vivelle patches and took those for another 2 weeks or so. I think I had one baseline u/s and one lining check. They checked my estrogen levels once or twice and that was it. Then you go in for the transfer and you are done. Good luck to you!
Estrace to build up the lining plus baby aspirin, a lining check and blood test, then PIO antibiotics and medrol, then ET. So easy.
Beautiful Miracle Baby lost at 21 weeks due to pre-term labor and incompetent cervix. FET#1 BFN, FET#2 BFP, early loss. FET#3 BFN. IVF#2 BFFN. FET #4 BFP after removing bilateral hydrosalpinx and 3 months of lupron depot. Sticky Bun is here!!
I don't know a *lot* about the protocol cause I haven't done one (yet). But. The fees are basically for embryo thaw/prep and transfer. I have heard (multiple times) that the cost is around $5K but try as I might, I can't figure out what to be involved that would consititute that much?
Re: What is a FET cycle like?
No BCP.
Baseline on CD2. Start Estrace.
One or two more lining checks.
Start PIO 5 days before transfer
Transfer around CD20.
No bloodwork ever. Easy.
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
I did:
