Parenting after a Loss

*SunnyDay16*

Hey!

Things are going ok over here.  The last two days she didn't want to sleep at all! No naps, up every two hours at night to eat and every 2 hours during the day.  She used to eat 10 times a day, but lately is been like 12 or 13.  I was hoping she would drop a feeding soon and increase her intake because she will only take about 2.5 ounces in a bottle, I hve no idea how much she gets when she nurses.

Last night though her first stretch of sleep was 5 and half hours, and then up every 2 hours since.  Today she has been a sleeping champ - so I hope that we're over the hump because the last week her eating/sleeping has been all out of whack!

How about you?  Have you been able to get any sleep?

Re: *SunnyDay16*

  • Last night she was up almost every hour! I am exhausted. She has been sleeping most of the day today. So either she'll be up all night or will sleep well. I have been hoping Cora would drop a feeding also. Sometimes she does at night but then by boobs are killing me. She did sleep three 3 hour stretches the other night and I hope that starts to become more of a habit. She is eating more when we give her a bottle. She took 4 ounces the other night and was still hungry but when she does that, she seems to go longer between feedings. Our girls names are so cute- Cora and Nora!

  • Oh man, I bet you're exhausted! Hopefully its almost over.  I read some place that they will sleep soundly for a long period at the end of the growth spurt and thats when the growth actually happens - thats what I'm hoping because Nora has also been sleeping most of today getting up only to eat.  I hope she'll still sleep tonight - you never can tell!

This lack of a schedule though is driving me bonkers!

I know, I love their names together! ANd they're practically the same age too.

  • The "schedule"is insane! I'm fine since I'm still on maternity leave but hope things will start to get more normal in the next few weeks. Are you still off? I'm home til Oct.

Ohhh that's a good sign if lots of sleep means end of the growth spurt! Cora fell asleep again and I sure hope I can get some good sleep tonight! I hope you can too!
