Did you register for medicines

& diaper rash cream & stuff like that?

Re: Did you register for medicines

  • Yes and a couple of people put together gifts that included the tylenol, mylicon, boudreaux's butt paste, etc.

  • I don't know about you but if I don't start getting some sleep at night I'm going to add a case of wine in a box to my registry.
  • We registered for the Johnson's Baby Relief kit. I thought someone might be more inclined to buy it as a set. (And someone did!)

  • I did, they have starter kits at target the had johnson and johnson stuff and other ones with tylonol, desitin, gas releif, ect. Pretty handy to have that stuff on hand just incase I need it.

  • I threw some aveno diaper rash cream on there (and someone bought it for me).  I was thinking of doing the medicines, but didnt end up doing it.  I really wanted a good all inclusive starter kit but couldnt find one I liked, so just figured I would buy a baby tylenol and a baby gas thing and be done with it.

  • I put first aid kits and medical supplies and a few basic meds on mine, not really because I expected anyone to buy them but so i could use the completion coupon on them. I got a few kits (lots of nurses in the family) so that was nice.
  • Yes, and my SIL purchased some of it. If you're needing to add things that would be a great addition, also sunblock and perhaps items for when you need to travel.
  • I did.

    I also paged you below.

  • I would. esp. if I was running out of stuff on the registry (since it sounds like ppl are buying yours up!)  I did register for a "new parent survival kit" that had lots of different types of baby medicines in it.

I even registered for nursing pads because it is something I know I will need.  The only thing I haven't registered for that I am tempted to is nursing tops/bras.  We will see if I need to add stuff when my shower gets closer....there were 62 invites sent out, so I may need to scramble!

  • Butt creams, yes.

    Other meds, no.

I did get wine at my shower!

A friend suggested not to register for kits because sometimes you don't know what the expiration date of the medicine that is in the kit is.  She said she opened two kits that had medicine with expired dates and had to throw it away.  It made sense to me so I took the kits I had on my registry off.  I'll buy meds closer to delivery date.  Just a thought.

  • My mom made me a big gift basket full of all of that stuff b/c I didn't add any of it to my registry.
  • I did and no one bought any of it, so we plan on getting all that stuff on our own. ?

  • Yep. ?With Layla I registered for balmex and mylicon drops. The mylicon drops were a LIFESAVER. ?I eventually had to end up putting 1-2 drops in every single bottle.?

    ?

  • I just put a gift set on there that comes with little bottles of all of that type stuff.

This, plus the little first aid kit. Hopefully will have everything I need.

  • Yep, I sure did.  That stuff adds up and I know I'll need it.
  • No, but I got the best shower gift! A basket full of baby meds.

Mylicon, Baby Tylenol, Baby Motrin, Baby Vicks, thermometer, and several more I can't even think of right now. It was a very thoughful gift.

  • For DS I registered for a set that included the stuff you might need most, like infant Tylenol, Motrin, gas drops, etc.  I'm so glad I did, because when something happens and you actually need it the last thing you want to do is run to the store and get it.  It kind of slips your mind.

I didn't register for diaper cream though.

  • I included meds, a first aid kit, and a grooming kit in my registries too.  I got the first aid kit so far.  I figured it'd be good to get the completion discount and have a reminder for later that I needed to pick up these items.
  • Yes, register for one of the gift sets. You will need that stuff and you'll want it on hand so your DH isn't running to Walgreens in the middle of the night!
  • My BFF did that and I bought it all for her and put it all in the diaper bag that she also registered for.
