NBR: Rant about Stepmother...am I crazy? (long)

Hi ladies,

 I just got off the phone with my stepmom (married my dad a few weeks ago)...and she has me thinking I somehow disrespected her for the dumbest thing...

 At their wedding, the photographer handed out those cards with the link and password to view photos in three weeks.  I just went on the site, and was having trouble remembering the password, so I clicked the little link that says Trouble? Contact the photographer.  AFTER I emailed him, I called my stepmom just to see if she remembered the password.  She said they had yet to finalize the online album and it would be up soon. 

Then, she calls me back on my cell while I am at work to flip out on me for emailing her photographer without first consulting her.  She said I should have known to ask her first since it is HER wedding and I should not have bothered the photographer and I should not call MY DAD either to bother him because she planned the whole thing and she knows more than everyone else about it.  I tried to explain that there is a link on the site just to email the photographer if you forget the password or have trouble accessing the album.  She said she will TEXT me when the album is ready after she approves it and if I have any other questions or concerns I should call her.

 Ok, that really pissed me off because first of all, I did nothing wrong (IMO)

Second of all, if you are taking THAT approach, then you better call everyone that came to the wedding and tell them not to email your photographer!

And third, she acted as if I was just some random stranger looking at her ONLINE wedding album.  I'm sorry but if you didn't want anyone to be excited to see your photos, then you shouldn't have allowed your photographer to create an online album!

 Ugh.  Am I crazy or what?

    Just a side note: My younger sister (who still lives at home with them) always calls me for things like this with my stepmom overreacting.  I usually dismiss it as my sister being difficult, but now I feel like I owe my sister an apology!

    Nope, it sounds like she's the one who's crazy.  Nice way to initiate herself into the family!  Sorry you had to deal with that. :(

    She seems a little off - anyone can access those pics - maybe she thinks she can approve what pics people get to look at?  Maybe she's worried about people seeing unflattering pics?

    Anyway, everyone who got a card can see the pics.

    Sorry she went off on you about something so minor.

    It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

    Thanks!  I just called my sister and had a good laugh over this.  So strange.  My sister reminded me that our stepmom also wrote her name on her loofah in the shower...and on the chicken in the freezer.  LMAO.

    Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry. You definitely did NOT do anything wrong! You just wanted to check out the photos and followed the photographer's directions on the website. She is overreacting big time! If you wanted to call your father about anything, you can! He's your father for gosh sakes! Maybe you can start by talking to your sister. It sounds like she has been through this before and might know how to deal. (((hugs)))

    Complete overreaction!! You didn't do anything wrong.  The photog's website tells you what to do if you get stuck- you were following directions!

    I have a feeling you'll be sharing more stories about her!!

     clover- oh of course, I don't mind.  I just don't know where to get one of those badges that says SAIFW

    I think that is what hit me worst of all!  He is MY DAD and I should be able to call him.  He would probably just try to make nice with everyone and tell me she is having a rough day or something. 

    I do have a pretty good relationship with her, so that is why I am surprised she acted out like that.  Then again, since she does this frequently with my sister...who knows...maybe she is finally showing her true self Devil
