Back from Ob/Gyn

I went for my regular pap and it took a lot for me not to test this morning...but what I couldn't believe is that, with so much pride, I whip out my chart and start blabbing about, well FF said that I O'd on the 19th, so I'm 9 DPO today, etc, etc...and he pretty much just looked at the calendar and threw out the FOURTEEN DAY RULE!@?#!@#? I was like are you kidding me, after all my tempting, EWCM observing, temping, you're gonna throw out the 14-day rule. Now, to his credit, he might have thought bc last cycle was a 28 day cycle, that was the case, but dude, it totally threw me off...someone said it, and I'll say it again, ppl on here I think know more about TTCing and Oing that the professionals!

    My family doctor said that to me also. Even after I told him that I do not ovulate till later. He said "no you O 2 weeks after your period." Indifferent And he used to be a birthing doctor.

    OMG  that sucks that he said that.  If it makes you feel any better my DR thew my chart aside and said don't worry about it, when referring to my 84 day cycle Surprise

    Wow...crazy-well it pissed me off bc I hoped he was wrong since I timed sex around when OPK, EWCM and temps!

    You timing and chart look good. Don't fret. Sometimes, medical doctors put way too much emphasis on what their textbooks say and not enough on real life. I show my MW the past three cycles, one had a 14 day LP and the other two had 12 day LPs. I threw out her 14-day rule and told her my body is just regulating from BC and all she could say is, "Well, your LP should be the same each month." I smiled because THAT is true.

    Wow...crazy-well it pissed me off bc I hoped he was wrong since I timed sex around when OPK, EWCM and temps!

    It really makes you feel alone though, I'm glad we have GP board!!

    I think you need to take those "education for docs" pages out of the back of TCOYF and give them to your doc. Sounds like he could use some educatin'!

    Here, here. My GP was amazed at my charts and literally said, "you did this all on your own?" I was like, "uhhh, yeah?!" Thankfully, my OB and R/E are much better versed in charting and all that. Geez.

    I just had a check up yesterday and talked to my doctor about TTC.  and she told me that most women O 2 weeks BEFORE their period.  For a second I was like "Please don't tell me what I already know isn't true" but it seems like she knows her stuff.  :)
