Let's buy an EFFing island

And all hang out together. We can farm for our food needs. The kids can run naked (or in CDs) together. We can sew our own clothes. Are there any nurses on here? We'll need a Dr or nurse of some sort. I know there are a few teachers on here. This could totally work.

I *think* SunnyInTuscan is going to med school...I think...and Dr.Loretta....i was going to nursing school and then going to go to med school but decided I wanted to stay at home with ds instead...so I know some medical stuff...and DH is a Paramedic....

Well Dh will probably willing hunt/fish for food for meat/seafood eaters depending on where this lovely island is. And he can repair mechanical things as well.

I'm not sure my family brings much to this island... DH works for the gov't in banking. I hope we don't need anything like that on the island! My degree is in recreational therapy. I hope we don't need that either! I could knit us all stuff, though (uh, tank tops? Is this a tropical island? anyone up for a knit bikini?). And before I move to the island, I will finish my doula stuff so I can do that, too. My DH is a pretty good hunter and fisher, though. He can do that. And he's an eagle scout, so I'm sure that will come in handy somewhere, too!

eta - My DH and your DH would totally click. Fishing and engineering. Though he's a rocket engineer right now, his education is mainly in aerodynamics and mechanical (fluid dynamics). He was doing research on alternative fuels/combusters for his PhD. They could make us EF buggies to get around the island. ;0)

oh man I'm so in. I'm going back to school for my MA in Teaching so I can teach all our little EF kiddos. and DH is in law school right now, so he can be the Island's attorney...ya know to keep all the EFF haters out Wink

i'm totally in - i have degrees in early childhood, and my DH is really good with a computer and writes software so we can have our interwebz and maybe even a database of cloth diapers so we can rotate as the kids grow out of things.
