How bad is it? Do they put you all the way under? I was reading the sheets last night and I felt a little queasy at the brief description. I'm a wuss.
(Obviously I have not gone to the IVF orientation yet. Just trying to get an idea of what to expect.)

Re: IVF Question #1 ~ Egg Retrevial
The scariest thing for me was the thought of going under for the first IVF, but I was out like a light and did not feel anything after then putting the IV in my arm (it made my whole arm hot)... then I took a few deep breathes in a mask and next thing I know I was in the holding area eating crackers and asking "how many eggs".
You will do great!!!
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I was out completely for mine. I woke up in the recovery area a short while later. I was a little sore and moved a little slowly but was fine otherwise.
GL!
I was under a twilight for mine, my ER was on a Wednesday. I slept the rest of that day at home. I stayed home Thursday as well since I had asked for the day off and I work 12 hour shifts on my feet. I was back at work Friday. I wasn't moving quite as fast as normal, but it wasn't bad.
Overall, it wasn't that big of a deal- recovering from my laporoscopy was much tougher.
I was completely out for mine. The hardest thing for me was the IV she could not get it in and was digging. When I woke up I could not believe it was over. I was a little sure that night and could not stop peeing, kinda felt like a urinary tract infection a little. Overall it was pretty easy..just rest and drinking gatorade made me feel better! Good Luck!
I see you are in the Philly area, which dr. do you see?
IVF#1 gave us a BFP on 8/24/09, DD born May 2010
Surprise, natural BFP July 2012 ended in miscarriage 9/4/12 at 10w4d
FET#1 January 2013
Both of mine were the "twilights", and I came out of them very quickly.... After you are a little sore, a little tender, but I think the whole experience is very exciting, from the ER to the ET to the 2ww... even though it hasn't worked yet for me, I am always so darned optimistic!
I go to Main Line Fertility. You? It seems that there are a number of us here.
