My doctor used to call back within 24 hours. Lately it takes her 2-3 days to return a phone call. Not to mention my wait time, when in the office, has increased from 5-10 minutes to 30 minutes at each appointment. If I was not so far along I think I would change practices.
Re: If You Call Your Doc, How Long Does He/She Take To Return Your Call?
yeah, that sucks.
Mine always calls me back within 12 hours. And I've never waited more than 10 minutes for an appointment.?
Seriously, that is the way it should be. You ladies are in good hands! I understand not all of my concerns are considered emergencies but this is my first pregnancy and when I call you about experiencing discomfort, you should call me back as soon as you can.
Waiting happens, there's not much you can do about that.. I always just think what if he had to run upstairs to deliver a baby? ?If I was ready to pop the baby out (LOL) I wouldn't really be concerned with the people in the waiting room in his office, kwim??
But.. he does always call back that day. ?I would address why it's taking so long for your calls to be returned. ??
Wow, that's a long wait time for her to return your call. When I call the nurses line they call back within the hour usually. At most by the end of the day.
There have been a few times where I have had to wait longer than a few minutes at the office. But I think it was because they needed an extra doctor in L&D. Usually I'm in and out in 30 minutes.
If the wait were every once in awhile due to an unexpected emergency I could understand. Since the wait has continued to increase as time goes on I find it unacceptable. I shoulkd not have to wait 30+ minutes when I have a scheduled appt. This has happened at least 4 times now and I am sick of it. I intend to complain to my doc when I see her next week.
Whenever I have called, it's been during office hours and they take my phone call right away.
My OB does the same thing. Can take days. I'm really considering switching because of the lack of communication. She has a nurse there for when she has deliveries and can't make her appointments (which i've seen her once) but the nurse is not my favorite person but I really like my OB.
They took a week and a half to call me over my 19 U/S to say that I had partial placenta previa and that I needed to rest and get another U/S soon. That is a long time to tell someone I think
