DD: Water broke and did neither. In retrospect, I wish I had showered.
DS: Induced. Showered, no makeup though. I knew the last thing I was going to worry about was removing it. Plus after X # of hours of labor, makeup is not going to be doing you any favors anyway.
I showered and put on make-up. I thought that I might have peed on myself when my water broke. I felt like I could at least retain some dignity after urinating on myself if I looked presentable.
Considering that I don't even wear make-up to work...no.
"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies. God damn it, you've got to be kind."
- Kurt Vonnegut
I voted yes, but I just showered, no makeup. My water broke at home around 10:30pm so before we went to the hospital I took a shower since I hadn't had one since early that morning and I knew I wouldn't get another one for a while. But I never wear makeup, so that wasn't even a thought.
When my third baby was born, my water broke at 4am. I had already dilated to 4cm at my last checkup. I was afraid of a quick delivery, so we hauled arse to the hospital. Turns out there was no hurry; I had to be induced. I didn't care about showering, but I sure was hungry. I cursed myself a thousand times for not eating something before leaving the house.

Other -- Labor started about 3 am. I took a shower about 7 am, but I didn't bother with the makeup. I shaved my legs, but I didn't bother to dry my hair.
I showered after my water broke. even doing that, and even w/ the hospital being about 20 mins away, we were still there w/in the hour after my water broke. I'm glad I did!

Both. And straightened my hair. I was induced, with twins, and they were not only our first babies but the first grandchildren for my parents and my husband's father (his mom passed away 5 years ago). I knew there'd be TONS of "look at Katie in labor" pics (and there were!) so I wanted to look somewhat presentable. Of course the IV puffed me out and after 13 hours my hair looked like crap, but at least the early shots made for nice scrapbook pics for my girls
I showered, but no make up. Not to be TMI but I had spent a big part of my labor in the bathroom so I felt a shower was necessary.

#1 I had showered that morning and was already ready for bed when I headed to the hospital and no, I didn't do a thing other than get my PJs off and put clothes on. #2 was a planned c-section but I had been having pre-term labor for 3 weeks. On the scheduled day, I woke up, showered, not sure on the make-up, dropped my older DD off at daycare and off to the hospital we went.
I was induced so I had a shower the night before...I dont wear make normally but like the pp I curse my slf for not eating breakfast because once we got to the hospital all I had a stupic ice chips for 12 freaking long hrs and then my C-section..argh...I was so hungry I seriously thought I was going to pass out!
I did shower that morning, but I didn't know for sure that I was in labor yet. I felt way too crappy to think about makeup. TMI, but I really just thought I was constipated until the bloody show started.
Neither. But looking back at the pics, I wish I'd put on some makeup. I am vain. And I definitely had the time. I was admitted at the hospital 6 hours before I felt any contractions. Delivered 3 hours after that.
My water broke at 3:45am. The doctor said I could either come in right away or wait a few hours, but if I came in right away they'd put me on pitocin. So I waited. Showered, ate breakfast, and put makeup on. DH showered, ate, and set up his "out of office" email for work. It worked out very well!
I had scheduled c-sections with both deliveries so I showered and styled my hair but no make up. I have very fine, very straight hair so I needed the best start possible knowing it would be a while before I could shower again.
My twins are 5! My baby is 3!
