I'm from NE Ohio and we say pop. I hate when people that are from here say soda to try and be cool.

  • How's this for irony--pregnant. I just hate something about the sound of it. But I hate most of the euphemisms for it even more.

I also hate tinkle, as in pee.

ETA: Also, anything with the letter combinations uv or ul. Like uvula. Ewwww.

It's a horrible word isn't it!  DH knows I hate it and laughs anytime someone else says it because he knows it makes me cringe.  Every once in a while he'll find a reason to say it too.  I don't find it very funny.

  • I don't like panties, blouse or slacks or just about anything my mom says. Lately she says "golly" a lot as in "oh my golly". She mispronounces fifth, she says "fith". She also uses "different", pronounced "diffrent" to describe anything unique, unusual, special, cool, etc.

    These. Add moist and purse.

Also, I don't know why the heck hunters and some other country folk feel the need to say the word 'creek' as though it's spelled 'crick.' It's crEEk. Idiots.
