Out of 18 eggs retrieved, we now have six f***ing embryos.
Five were immature.
Five fertilized abnormally.
Two did not fertilize.
Happy f***ing anniversary to us.
(For comparison's sake, we had 16 eggs retrieved last cycle and got 14 embryos. I am not feeling very impressed by CCRM right now.)

Re: Abominable Fert Results
Are you doing cgh testing?
I hope your six embies are rockstars and grow and grow.
Sorry about the crapy fert report. GL!!

It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

Hopefully those six that you did get are rockstars. Sending you lots of embie growing dust. I'm so sorry you are dealing with this ((hugs))
Everybody says quality over quantity because it is TRUE.
I only had 2 eggs fertilize out of 6 retrieved. They both got top grades and at least one of them has stuck so far. So even though you were hoping for more, you still have a good amount to work with.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!

Yes. The embryologist was not at all comforting. He said that we have the minimum they recommend to move forward with growing to blast and doing CGH.
OMG. I am speechless. I wasn't expecting this, especially from CCRM and considering all the extra stuff involved. I am so sorry for the disappointing news.
But, I will remain hopeful that the 6 you have will continue to thrive. Hang in there. Let's see what happens over the next couple days...

I'm sorry for your disappointing fert report - but hopefully those 6 will be rock stars!
I'm more disturbed about the embryologist from CCRM being a douchenozzle. Not that he wasn't giving you proper info - but that the manner in which he did it wasn't comforting... CCRM is supposed to be this mecca... they should all act in a manner of empathy and knowledge.

I'm sorry - the variability from cycle to cycle is probably the most frustrating thing. I hope that for whatever reason these six are kickass.
Actually... you know what - I know a blogger who did DE cycle at CCRM and was really disappointed in their fert and embryo quality - but lo and behold she ended up pg. I think that CCRM has magic culturing capabilities, so these six are in the best of hands. If you want to read about her experience you can here:
https://onwardandsideways.wordpress.com/2009/03/ (she cycled in march so that is the address for the march archives).

I only had 4 embies for my last ivf and it worked, remain hopeful.
3 IUI's, 2 IVF's , 1 FET , 1 IVF w/ Gestational Carrier, and 1 FET using adopted embryo's = ALL BFNs
We are adopting!
