What's my RE's problem?

I found out the reason my appointments kept getting cancelled. My current RE is moving, and I was being "given" to the new RE - who I posted about 2 days ago. He's a real treat. When the heck was I going to hear about having a new doctor?

Even better, after I made a scene at the office (a very mature and needed scene) and told him I would never be back....he, PERSONALLY, calls me today. He said he didn't mean to offend me, and he knows I'm overly emotional right now, so he's sure I didn't mean I would really be finding someone new. He asked if we could schedule another appointment to talk more in depth about his views of why he thought I needed to be on BCP. I kindly told him no thanks, I wasn't interested, and then he says that at our next appointment he can even prescribe me some depression medicine. I'm not depressed. And I was dead serious about changing doctors. I ended up hanging up on him, because I was still agitated from Tuesday. Such audacity! (although, I likely am going to have to travel to Chicago to find another RE....ugh -- my stubborness!!)

Re: What's my RE's problem?

  • OMG!  I can't believe that he wanted to write you a prescription for depression meds.  That is crazy and totally uncalled for.

I am really sorry that this happened.  Was your first RE in Chicago?  That is quite a drive from Peoria.  I am at Northwestern and love it.   Let me know if you want a rec.

  • No, my RE was here in Peoria, but she (not he, b/c he's new) was the only one I'd had rec's to use. I'm definitely going to see if there's any others around here, because it's sure is a l-o-n-g drive to Chicago. Thanks - and if we decide to head to Chicago, I'll want your input!

  • Good luck with the search!  It would probably be better to find someone closer to home since you have to go in so much for monitoring.  That would just be way too much driving!

  • Are you kidding? I would be furious! I hope that you find a great doctor instead of dealing with all the crap with the current one(s).
