Working Moms

Of COURSE she would start throwing up...

...on a Thursday, which is my one day with a ton of regular conference calls. And on the particular Thursday when I have a big presentation to my skip-level manager and all of her direct reports.

Sigh.

Luckily, DH was able to take off too, so we're tag-teaming baby duty around our calls. DD is down for a nap now... she threw up once this morning right after waking up, but ate a good breakfast and snack and has kept them down, so far. Fingers crossed. (But last time she had a stomach bug, she ate breakfast and lunch before throwing up two more times, so I don't think we're out of the woods Sad)

  • Ugh!!!!  That is the ONE thing I really hate -- stomach bugs.  Because they are (a) messy and disgusting, (b) kid feels like death and there is nothing you can do and (c) I always get them.  And yep, they somehow know when you are busy and get sick then.  Never fails.  At least DH was able to take off so you all can do the tag-teaming approach.  It is never perfect but it's workable.

  • It never seems to happen on a "good" day, does it?  I hope the rest of your day goes better!
  • It is *always* on a busy day.  Ugh.  I hope she feels better tomorrow!
  • Ugg..we had the same day.  Andrew threw up last night and developed a fever.  Nicholas was fine until this morning - then he got the fever and threw up too.  I had three meetings today so DH stayed home with the nanny.  We just couldn't leave her by herself with two sick toddlers and a baby - not if we wanted her to come back.  Tongue Tied

We will have to see how everyone is feeling tomorrow but as of now they both have high fevers.  It may be my turn to stay home tomorrow.
