Pregnant after a Loss

does uterus stretching "pain" fluctuate?

I have cramps from my uterus stretching, but I feel like I have felt it more often throughout today than I did this week and last week.

Did this happen to anyone else and everything ended up being find?  I am probably just being OCD, but a little reassurance would put my mind at ease.

Re: does uterus stretching "pain" fluctuate?

  • I have had cramping/stretching pain on and off since before my BFP. It was daily for several weeks, and lately it's been more like "non-existant-one-day-and-a-little-worse-the-next." Of course, I haven't had an u/s yet, but I'm assuming everything's fine.

  • Yeah they fluctuate.  Mine have been stronger yesterday and today.  I take it as a good sign that my body is stretching and getting ready to make room for the baby.  As long as they aren't sharp stabbing pains, you should be ok.  I remember my m/c cramps were unbearable.  What I'm experiencing now is nothing like that was.
  • I never had any pain with my miscarriage.  I started spotting and went to the ER because it was starting to have a red tint.  I still didn't have cramps the day of my D&C.  I feel better knowing this is happening to 2 other people.

The pain is just like minor AF cramps

  • You are lucky you didn't have pain.  I went through labor (I was 12.5 weeks) and it was the worst pain I've ever had.  It felt like someone stabbed me with a knife and just kept twisting it around.   The pain actually made me vomit - never had that happen before because I'm usually tough with pain!
  • I have been having some moderate cramping too... I was told if you don't have any spotting and it isn't too severe it is probably normal and will come and go.

  • I'm not that far along, but I've had the cramping since my BFP. It comes and goes, and some days it seems to last all day. Other days it only seems to last a few hours at a time, or when I've done a lot of walking or standing. It's perfectly normal.
