Lots of respect for those that do PIO injections themselves

I know that a few of you on here do the PIO injections yourself for various reasons.  Last night I gave one to myself for the first time.  I have some solo travel coming up and was terrified to have to do it myself.  It was giving me so much anxiety I decided I would do a trial run last night. It was actually a little easier than I expected.  But I still felt kind of faint afterwards, just from the nerves of it all.  But I did it and now I know I can do it again.  Just wanted to send out some props to those who do it yourself all the time!

  • Yay for you!  Props to all you ladies that do PIO, whether you do it yourself or not.  I'm thankful I'm on Crinone, because those shots were honestly the only part that freaked me out about doing IVF in the first place.

  • Good for you.  And thanks for the props.  I decided to do them myself because my DH hated "hurting" me and it made him really nervous.  It was just easier to do it myself and now I'm glad that I can do it solo.

this exactly. I will say that the first time I gave myself a PIO shot I felt faint and had to sit on the floor for a few minutes afterwards. And then my husband was afraid to go out of town and leave me alone in case I really did faint and hit my head in the bathroom. But now they are a piece of cake.

I stand with my back to the bathroom mirror and half-sit on the counter on the butt cheek that I'm going to inject. Then I twist around and look in the mirror to make sure I'm hitting a good spot, and I just jab it in! It is a little harder to twist when I'm more bloated and my boobs are bigger. Stick out tongue
