I went in for my baseline b/w and u/s this morning...hooray! Ovaries looked good and clear, but the tech said my lining was still a little thick - around 6-something? I have just started spotting for my AF (stopped pills on Sunday) so she guessed that would get thinner over the next few days. Do you think they will let me start or make me wait a day or two until it gets thinner?
Also, I just found out yesterday (when my meds arrived) that I have a new protocol. I did antagonist last time - with decent results (I thought) - 12 eggs, 7 fert, 5dt of 2 blasts, but I didn't stim as well as the RE would like. Now I'm doing the Lupron Microdose protocol. Anyone familiar with this? I'm scared now, b/c my friend Mr. Google says this is typically the last resort before DE....true?!?
I've been so out of the TTTC loop during my break up to this cycle, that I guess I didn't ask enough questions going in to it! Thanks ladies!
Re: IVF#2 starts today...maybe...and new protocol ?
I don't have any experience wityh the lupron microdose protocol personally, but I feel like I have seen girls on here who have done it/are doing it now. Hopefully one of them responds and can answer your questions.
Best of luck with this cycle
From what I have heard, the estrogen priming protocol is usually the last protocol to be used if nothing else works.
Good luck on your new cycle!

It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

Hey there, excited for you! I had a thick lining during my check, but it was b/c I ovulated on bcp and af hadn't come, they thought the lupron had suppressed her but she wound up showing up a few days later. They said my lining needed to be thinner and my E2 down below 50, so that might be what they will look for. No harm, just delayed me a little bit. I think you go to Shady Grove is that right? Which office?
I would not read into protocol = x...take hope in this cycle and go from there. I would ask though why the change? Those do seem like great results to me!! GL girl!!
I am currently doing the MDL protocol for my IVF #2. I have read that on Google about it being the last resort. My RE simply says that it is a much more aggressive protocol. Also it is often used for poor responders.
BTW - I am having a much better response with the MDL!
this.
I did the MDL protocol for the last cycle. They had me try it only because it was one another things different. I did antagonist the first two cycles. I dont think it mattered much, I probably got lower number of eggs with MDL than my 2nd antagonist cycle. I do get about 20-30 eggs though.Still same results.did thay say why they wanted you to do MDL if you had 12 eggs and 7 fert last time?
Thanks for all the responses and well wishes Ladies!
My RE had mentioned in our last meeting that he was going to stim me more aggressively this time, as he hoped to have a better response. I guess I just assumed that would mean a higher dosage than before. My nurse said that the Microdose Lupron works the same as the Ganirelix I used in the antagonist cycle, it just suppresses ovulation in a different way. Besides that, I'm still using the Gonal-f + Menupur cocktail I used last time (with the higher dosage I used towards the end of my cycle before.) I guess we will see....I just took my first Lupron shot a few minutes ago and start stims tomorrow....away we go!
