Brainstorming challenge

What can I fill a big bean bag chair with that is:

  1. Ecofriendly
  2. Cheap
  3. Comfortable
Bonus points if I already have the material in my house.

Re: Brainstorming challenge

  • Excess packing peanuts (reusing?)

    An old comforter or blankets?

Beans? (j/k, that would be so heavy!)

  • Loading the player...

Ha!  I thought of beans too, but quickly rejected the idea.

  • old stuffed animals, old bedding, old clothing, fabric remnants

  • Wood shavings!  This is what I make my dog beds with anyway!  WE have danes so we go through a lot of big beds lol! Cedar is naturally anti microbial!

Wouldn't that be pokey though?  Meaning the bits would poke through the fabric?

  • i agree with the old stuffed animals/blankets. i think Boon even makes something to put your stuffed animals in that ends up looking like a beanbag chair.?
  • Well get the shavings from like a hardware store or lumber yard not so much like mulch chips.  The shavings are really comfy! Yes I have tested the dog beds.  Some lumber yards package and sell their shavings instead of disposing of them.  If you are in a large city this might be harder to find.
