Hello all,
I was petrified before my HSG and sought advice here, so I thought I would share my experience. It was not bad at all. I was so shocked. I had the saline sonogram and had heard that the HSG would be worse. It was not. With the saline sonogram, I had some pretty intense pressure/cramping and was just praying for it to be overwith. With the HSG, I only felt the slightest bit of cramping when the cathedar went and and that was it. I barely even felt the dye moving through. It really was very easy. I am so thankful. Plus, everything was normal, which is always a plus!
Re: My HSG experience
I'm glad you had such a positive experience with good results!
My SIS was much less painful for me than my HSG was....it is so weird how the same tests can be so different for people!
TI, IUIs, IVF = c/ps and BFNs
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
I'm so happy to hear that your HSG went so well and that everything looks great! I have found that for most of these procedures it's the anxiety beforehand that's the worst part.
I'm glad you have a good experience!
I had an AWFUL experience and I would not wish it on anyone.
Same here! My RE's nurse said "Oh, don't worry, the SS isn't nearly as bad as the HSG." SInce my HSG wasn't bad, I thought the SS would be a breeze - well, it was far from that.
Good luck! Both my HSG and saline were normal. So, we still have no answers as to what the crap is going on. All we have been told to do at this point is add another vitamin and some progesterone and cross our fingers.
The saline was not fun, but it was tolerable. It would have been much easier if the nurse hadn't injected the saline a bit too fast. Ouch! She apologized, but that still really doesn't make it better for me, now does it?
